United Way of the Greenbrier Valley is hosting its third annual Empty Bowls event on Thursday, November 1 from 5:30-7:30pm in the Kyle and Ann Fort Arts and Sciences Building at New River Community & Technical College in Lewisburg, WV.
The event raises awareness and much-needed funds to address the issue of hunger in our area. United Way supports local food pantries and awards grants to community partners for their food services programs such as Gwen's Meal and Meals on Wheels. This event will help support those services.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $25 or at the door for $35. With your ticket you will receive one locally handcrafted pottery bowl of your choosing, soup, bread, drink, and dessert. Local potters have generously donated their work (soup-size bowls) to this cause and local businesses and members of the community have generously donated the delicious food. A silent auction will also take place during the evening highlighting local artists' work. Come on in from the cold and get a warm bowl of soup and a beautiful piece of pottery to take home! Empty Bowls is a come & go event - stop by any time between 5:30 and 7:30pm.
Thank you to our potters; soup, bread, drink, and dessert donors; New River CTC; Carnegie Hall, WV; Davis Stuart; silent auction contributors; musicians Robin & Doug; and the Empty Bowls committee & volunteers for making this event possible!
