A Message from the Executive Director

The United Way of Greenbrier Valley plays a vital role in creating positive change within our community. UWGBV spends its time, energy, and funds on four initiatives: Health, Education, Income, and Basic Needs in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas counties, funding 25 non-profit agencies annually for programs and services focusing on these initiatives. Supporting Education, we have created a Literacy Initiative, partnering with local agencies, businesses, and schools to increase awareness of the importance of reading. UWGBV hosts read aloud opportunities at special events, giving away thousands of books in the Greenbrier Valley.
From after school care for elementary school students to college prep for high school students, from hot meals for senior citizens to medical assistance to the uninsured, from hotel rooms for homeless veterans to heating the home of a family of four, United Way of the Greenbrier Valley is there to lend support to the non-profit organizations in our area that do so much for our neighbors and fellow community members.
Our goal is to help create long-lasting changes that promote financial independence, a solid educational base, and healthy lifestyle choices for our community, but we can’t do it alone. We invite you to be part of the change. Together, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. Whether you donate time or money, advancing the common good requires all of us to work together and Live United. Please join us. No gift is too small. Every dollar raised stays right here in Greenbrier, Monroe, and Pocahontas counties.
You are invited to LIVE UNITED along with us by giving, advocating, and volunteering. Together, we will achieve lasting, positive change. Thank you!
