Executive Director
United Way of the Greenbrier Valley is seeking candidates for a full-time Executive
Director to lead, under the direction of the Board of Directors, an effective organization focused on implementing strategies to impact Greenbrier, Monroe and Pocahontas County residents in the areas of health, education and basic needs.
Candidates should possess commitment to mission, a high degree of energy and integrity, strong community-based background with demonstrated participation in social service nonprofit organizations, significant experience in fiscal management, grant writing, a successful record of fund-raising and proven ability to work with staff and volunteers to develop and implement successful strategic plans.

LifeBridge AmeriCorps WV 2-1-1 Specialist
LifeBridge AmeriCorps is now pleased to accept site applications for the 2022-2023 grant year. We will have 50 member positions that will focus on the following three areas:
• Economic Opportunity – members will focus on improving access to services that enhance financial literacy in economically disadvantaged adults; assist West Virginian’s with free tax preparation (if applicable), and; ensure West Virginian’s have their basic needs met through 2-1-1 and informational and referrals.
• Healthy Futures – members will focus on raising awareness of substance misuse with particular emphasis on prescription opioids; removing the stigma of getting rehabilitation assistance; ensure West Virginian’s have their basic needs met through 2-1-1 and informational and referrals, and; implement the This is Not About Drugs program with West Virginian’s 6th grade and above.
• Veterans – members will focus on enhancing the quality of life for veterans, military members and their families by providing individualized services including peer-to-peer mentoring; improve access to safety net benefits; assist veterans in obtaining employment or higher education, and; educate nonprofit organizations, businesses, and government agencies on the services available to veterans and how to access them.

Every site application must include the application, service description(s) and signed certification in order for the site to be considered for member placement.
The member’s term of service is one year and 1,700 hours. Members may serve up to four terms with LifeBridge. For the 2022-2023 year, members will receive:
- Living allowance of $16,502
- Education award $6,495 (a member may only receive 2 full education awards)
- Free health care coverage (for member only)
- Child care (this benefit requires income eligibility)
- MAP (24/7 mental health service)
- Student loan forbearance
In order to become a LifeBridge AmeriCorps site, your organization will agree to provide:
- Cash match of $5,200
- Designate a site supervisor (staff person) to recruit, supervise and train the LifeBridge member
Please note the following:
- Our grant year will begin August 10th
- Member’s will have a 3 day orientation in Charleston, WV August 10-12
- Site supervisor training – TBD
- Provide $5,700 in-kind if needed (waiting to see requirements)
